Folks,
Just a note about a couple of pieces of equipment that seem
to be working ok/well
REI backpack raincover. I really like this one as compared to my
external frame rain cover. It is adjustable and also has elastic
around the whole perimeter. This lets you get at almost any part
of your pack without having to take off the whole rain cover.
PUR Hiker water filter. I bought a new filter because my Sweetwater
needed some replacement parts and this filter had a one year
guarantee against clogging. So far it seems to be working well.
Journey Backpack So far this is working well. I have a lot of
stuff hung on through the compression straps. One real trick is
making sure that the first items in the bottom of the main compartment
are compact enough, so everything fits well. The problem that I had
in the Grand Canyon was that my first stuff sack was too big, and
wasted a lot of space.
